This map is from the organisation called B’tselem. I have found this map so useful. It has helped me recognise the extent of the occupation and the barrier and also how it violates International law. Anything beyond the green line such as settlements, barriers, walls and fences are completely illegal. Ill let you decide and please send some comments. You can click on map to open and zoom in. Notice on the Western side the extent that the wall has confiscated land.

Facts:

Areas affected:

The barriers total length is 709km, more than twice the length of the 1949 Armistace line (Green Line) between the West Bank and Israel.

The total area located between the Barrier and the Green Line is 9.5% of the West Bank including East Jerusalem and No Man’s Land.

When completed, approximately 15% of the Barrier will be constructed on the Green Line or in Israel with 85% inside the West Bank.

Population affected:

If Barrier is completed based on the current route:

Approximately 35,000 Palestinians holding West Bank ID Cards in 34 communities will be located between the Barrier and the Green Line.

The majority of Palestinians with East Jerusalem ID cards will reside between the Barrier and the Green Line. However, Palestinian communities inside the current municipal boundary, Kafr Aqaband and Shu’fat Camps, are separated from east Jerusalem by the Barrier.

Approximately, 125,000 Palestinians will be surrounded by the Barrier on three sides, These comprise of 28 communities including Qalqiliya.

Approximately 26,000 Palestinians in 8 communities will be surrounded on four sides by a barrier, with a tunnel or road connection to the rest of the West Bank.
